Decarbonising Hard-to-Abate Transport Modes

EMPOWER is participating in the Politecnico di Torino’s Spring School “Decarbonising Hard-to-Abate Transport Modes” which will be held from May 26th to 29th

Organized by the DENERG Excellence Department, the school aims to equip students with knowledge and tools for transport decarbonization, addressing technical and regulatory challenges.

EMPOWER will participate in the session “Decarbonization of heavy-duty road transport: a techno-economic and life-cycle perspective”.

🗣️During the session Dragan Simic (AIT), Ezio Spessa, and Antonella Accardo (DENERG-POLITO) will present detailed data and analyses on EMPOWER’s progress in evaluating the environmental and economic impact of decarbonization strategies for heavy-duty vehicles.

Finally, the session will include work from:
▪️Prof. Z. Samaras (Aristotle Univ.), discussing key results of the EU projects ESCALATE and Le Mesurier.
▪️Dr. D. Jose and Rose Nangah Mankaa (INaB-RWTH Aachen), presenting the TranSensus project and Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) of battery electric vehicles.
▪️Gianfranco Malagrinò, providing a synthetic analysis of heavy-duty applications, linking to EMPOWER’s themes.
